Exciting things are happening at Spotify! If you don’t know Spotify, the company slogan is ”music for everyone”. More information (from the website): ”Spotify is now free on mobile, tablet and computer. Listen to the right music, wherever you are”. It’s a Swedish company founded by Daniel Ek and Martin Lorentzon (if you want to follow them on Twitter – @eldsjal and @MartinLorentzon).
Being inside the agile world it’s a lot of buzz around Spotify and their company structure and culture. Sensei Henrik Kniberg has been a leading contributor in this work (as far as I understand it). Movie director Henrik Kniberg has put together two brilliant and very informative clips around this.
Spotify engineering culture part 1 (13 minutes 12 seconds)
Spotify engineering culture part 2 (13 minutes 27 seconds)
If you are in a real hurry, and can’t watch, you can ”fast forward” by looking at the following two pictures:
After I made this blog post, Henrik Kniberg’s keynote regarding “Spotify organization culture” from Smidig 2014 (Agile conference in Oslo, Norway) has become available on Vimeo. You can find it below.
I can really recommend watching this inspiring presentation. Is it in English or Swedish? Start the clip and you will find out 🙂
More updates, Joakim Sundén’s talk “Leadership@Spotify” at Øredev 2014 (Developer conference in Malmö, Sweden) has become available on Vimeo. See it below.
